Even pastors have a hard time talking about Christmas without the sentimental, or cultural, or political B.S. attached to the holiday.
Most pastors decry the B.S. commercialization of Christmas: but of course, the holiday is the biggest annual opportunity for churches' "sales-pitch," same as for Walmart.
So...best sermon I've ever heard on the real import of Christmas: that Christ's birth is God's intervention to save mankind from its hopeless, merciless, death by self-rule.
That Jesus enacts in human flesh God's promise to every human being, that His unlimited love will rule us, now and forever, in "righteousness, peace, and joy."
